To create my alternate resume, I used ChatGPT with a targeted prompt asking it to rewrite my original resume for an entry-level Healthcare Administration role. I asked the AI to reframe my existing experiences and skills to align with what employers in that industry typically look for, such as patient relations, organizational compliance, and communication. The AI version reframed my role as a Waiter’s Assistant to highlight my adherence to health and safety standards — directly relevant in a healthcare setting. My Student Counselor experience was repositioned to emphasize interpersonal support and client-facing communication. My finance background was reframed as an asset for managing healthcare budgets and records. What I learned is that the same experience can tell very different stories depending on how it is framed. Prompt engineering is not just about giving commands to an AI — it is about being specific, providing context, and guiding the output toward a clear goal. Tailoring content for different audiences is a skill that goes far beyond AI tools and is at the heart of all professional communication.
